God spoke to Jeremiah and said "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you." God is actively involved in our lives before birth. Parenting starts in the womb, not just when the baby is born and the womb ministry seeks to support the parents in these early stages. Therefore through this ministry we provide support to expectant parents from conception to the early weeks after delivery, empowering them to nurture their babies spiritually, as well equip them with resources useful for baby's holistic development.
Our first meeting was in November 2006 and the last 16 months have been truly amazing. To date, we have been part of the pregnancy and delivery of twentyone babies, we are currently expecting another eight in the coming months and we are in prayer agreement with over twelve couples seeking God for the fruit of the womb.
Our monthly meetings are a great forum for expecting parents to fellowship, learn from each other and be served by our team of professionals (midwives, breastfeeding specialist, nutritionist, paediatrician, beauty therapist and health visitor) who minister to the physical/emotional needs of expecting parents. Apart from the monthly meetings our dedicated intercessors support the family in prayer throughout the pregnancy through to delivery. We also provide practical support and help for those who require e.g., nanny service for 4-6 weeks after baby is born, home visits, supplies for baby etc.
We are a growing ministry and very excited about all that the Lord is doing and going to do through us. In particular we believe that as we begin to take care of and create a welcoming and right environment for the youngest members (babies in the womb) of the KTLCC family, the Lord will surely open more wombs.
"The monthly meetings are a blessing and joyous occasion as we share thoughts, feelings, ideas and experiences about pregnancy, childbirth and also pray together for our unborn babies and families. We've seen husbands and wives unite, men begin to recognise themselves as heads of the household and begin to take their God given authority as the head and spiritual leader of the family.
As one of the midwives in the team, I have not only seen miracles happen to childbearing women and their families, but the hand of God has moved on my family too and is still moving. I recommend the womb ministry to anybody that can make any contribution whatsoever to families. Come and be a part of the team and your life will never be the same.
We were one of the two couples that attended the first meeting. The meetings were so liberating as it helped me to deal with the longstanding fear of childbirth that I had. The fear and anxiety was rooted in the fact that most people I knew including my mum had terrible experiences of childbirth. At one meeting Jacqui explained that God has programmed us that when we relax we produce hormones that make baby's delivery easy while fear does the opposite. This simple truth stuck in my mind. With each meeting we attended we felt very blessed and enriched with a lot of knowledge about pregnancy and childbirth. The more we knew the better prepared for our baby's arrival. It was so amazing how much knowing about childbirth and especially knowing God's mindset for pregnancy and delivery made a difference to our lives. The scriptures we prayed and confessed at the meetings became so real that we knew beyond any reasonable doubt that God was in control of everything concerning the birth of our baby. The delivery of our first child Amadea Deborah was such a wonderful experience; no fear! we were so relaxed and in control throughout the not so painful, short and easy labour, It felt like a short trip to the hospital and back. We felt so good and happy. We couldn't believe that was it! Now we know and believe that in everything we do in life our mindset is important, If we let God put things in the right order in our mind it will make a huge difference to the way things are accomplished in our lives. For me the biggest fear of my life turned to be the biggest victory, thanks to God! And now we're expecting our second child."
"I am unable to put into words the true extent to which the womb ministry has affected me. It has been an amazing blessing and strength to our family through the Holy Spirit and dedication of the team. This was my second pregnancy and I have since given birth to a beautiful baby boy Gabriel Jacques Amadi Amiaka (9 lb). My first pregnancy was a mess, labour was a disaster. I ended up having an emergency C-section, blood transfusion and general anaesthetic. Basically everything went wrong!! Having been through this my prayer really was to have a natural delivery and for things to just be normal, but the concerns and anxiety still lingered.
Through the monthly meetings this was completely alleviated, prayers were answered and you just knew that God was in control. It was a forum in which anything could be talked about, money , pains, emotions, etc. The team was an amazing support, without judging you they steer you towards the promises of God and any negative fears start to drift away.
In the end I had Gabriel via elective C-section and was very tearful when this was decided, I felt that yet again the true magnificence of labour would be stolen from me. After speaking to Ayo she filled me with confidence and reassurance that this was perhaps Gods plan for me and we just didn't know why yet. This was very true, on opening me up the surgeons discovered a lot of scar tissue which they believed was from an infection I got from the previous C-section and also that my uterus had thinned. The probability was that I would have had another emergency C-section! Straight away I knew God had intervened not only to clean up previous errors but also to save me from what would have been another traumatic birth. We thank God, KT and the womb ministry team for the wonderful service they lovingly provide.
KT's womb ministry meets once a month at 2pm in the crèche on the same day as the children's net meetings.
