As we seek to tackle the giants that would rule our land, we have been sharpening our most powerful weapon - the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Through our Living Free, Mastering Leadership and Revival Training programmes we train cell leaders and members who can stand firm in their faith and then lead others to salvation and disciple them for Jesus.
In the two years since we began the nightly revival services we have seen an amazing 5,076 recorded responses to the Gospel in the meetings and in the cells. For every person who responds we have someone ready immediately to pray with them and help them to understand the decision they have just made. Our cells and their leaders across the city are waiting to welcome these new believers and to help them take their first steps in their new relationship with the Lord.
KT is very fortunate to have a large number of visitors - from right across the world - and so it is not always possible for every new believer to join one of our cells. But of those that can be followed up, 65% joined a cell. As well as preaching the gospel and calling people to give their lives to Jesus the Revival meetings have included prayer for healing and breakthrough. Many people, including some from Europe, have visited the services in order to receive prayer.
Towards the end of 2009 we asked for people to share their testimony of what the Lord has been doing in their lives during this time of revival, the response was tremendous. Below is just a small selection that we hope will encourage you as you believe God for breakthrough in your life.
"I was saved at KT when they put on the play Heaven's Gates, Hell's Flames - I had been invited by the friend that is now my cell leader. Last year I brought a friend from university to a Revival service and she gave her life to Jesus and was baptised. My friend then brought one of her friends, also from university, who recommitted her life to Jesus. Now all three of us are involved in the church!"
"My cell went to Earl's Court one Thursday to evangelise. Two of our members gave out invitations to the Revival services. That same night at the service when William Lee gave the call to salvation we saw two women come out to give their lives Jesus - and they were among those that had received leaflets from us earlier that day."
"I have been praying for a couple of years for a friend of mine to get saved, but got to the point when I was only praying occasionally. I think I became discouraged as her behaviour seemed to me to be getting more sinful. In October I told her that I was taking part in the Ugandan Independence Revival Service and invited her to come - but not really expecting her to. To my surprise she came to the event and responded to the altar call. To be honest, she is the last person I expected to get saved, but God reminded me of my prayers. Now, she has now joined my cell and is growing in the Lord."
"I give God thanks for a neighbour who got saved in my cell. After visiting for over a year, the second time I shared the Gospel message of salvation with him, he accepted Jesus."
"I had a broken shoulder for about 18 years and the pain was unbearable. At the second Revival evening of Energise 2008 William Lee prayed for me. Immediately after he prayed I could still feel the pain but I believed that I was healed. The next day, whenever the pain came I could also feel something like the wind blowing then the pain was gone completely. For more than 13 months now I have had no pain in my shoulder."
"My mother has been totally deaf for 22 years and ever since the Revival meetings started every time Gypsy William Lee prays for the sick I have come forward for prayer to stand in the gap for her healing every time. Two months ago my mother told me that she can hear clearly now and no longer bothers to use her hearing aid."
"I thank God for healing my mum. She collapsed after being given incorrect medication and was threatened with a massive stroke. I came to the Revival service to stand in the gap for here. Three days later I phoned home and spoke with her - she had been completely restored."
As well as testimonies from the revival services we heard one very encouraging testimony from a Kensington Temple couple. They were in a very discouraged state when they attended the New Year 's Eve service (2008/09) and heard Colin Dye's message on The Secret of Fruitfulness. They decided to stand on that word and have testified that: they got a new car in March, the wife became pregnant in April and then got a new job in August, the husband was promoted at work and in addition to all that they say, "on top of everything our spiritual life became fruitful and we enjoy God's fellowship and guidance in everything"!
Praise God for these and for the many other testimonies.
