Gap stands for Gospel to All Peoples and is the overseas mission arm of Kensington Temple that fulfils the 'world' part of our mission statement, London and the World for Christ. A key part of our vision is to reach the 10/40 window, the area in the world where the least evangelised people groups reside, as well as the rest of the world such as Europe and South America. The 10/40 window is the region in the world that has been most untouched by the Gospel. Some 2,000 people groups have yet to be reached and have not ever heard the name of Jesus. The window represents the core of Islamic, Buddhist and Hindi religions but is also a place of extreme poverty. 8 out 10 of the world poorest people live here. We are focusing our efforts on bringing the Gospel to these unreached people. We would like to see ALL the CHURCH impacting the nations. We are looking for people to partner with GAP so we can impact the world together. If you would like to make a difference in the lives of multitudes of people from different nations you can start by giving into GAP Missions Today.
Our intention as a cell church is that our entire ministry should be done through cells. Our cells aren't just to reach our friends, neighbourhoods or even our city. Each one of our cells and each one of our cell members should also be impacting the nations as well as London. In some churches they have a Missions department or Mission's team but at Kensington Temple all our cells and cell members are the Missions team.
This month we will be teaching in the cells, 3 practical aspects for us to fulfil our missions calling:
MAKE SURE YOU GET YOUR CELL GROUP INVOLVED IN MISSIONS.
Bishop Marcelo has been overseeing the churches in Brazil from London for almost 5 years, many times crossed Atlantic Ocean to be there, other times ministering using internet. Marcelo and Fabiana will be now moving to Brazil to live there and will continue to visit the church in London every two or three months.
In 2010 we plan to build a strong base in Recife, raising up new leaders, re-launch of Sword of the Spirit in Portuguese and strengthen our missions and social work.
Niger is amongst the most needy nations in the world. We sent a small team there in 2008 and we made links with key pastors and leaders. Neal and Danette Childs have a ministry in Niger that has over 30 churches including a Bible school with many students in Niamey and North Niger in Maradi.
Our plan is to return in 2010 to reconnect with key pastors and leaders. Please continue to pray that the gospel will continue to expand in Niger and that the churches will be strengthened. Please pray for doors to open up.
This year Pastor Claudio Ferro is planning many evangelistic events: we have great expectancy that God is going to move in an unprecedented way. In February Roma City Church will hold an evangelistic outreach in a Theatre in Central Rome with 1000 seats. In the summer we are hosting Evangelist John Maasbach from Holland with 30 youths for a week of street evangelism. The Bible school in Rome has 6 students meeting every Saturday with the Sword of the Spirit material be taught.
This year the Sword of the Spirit school will start in Torino. In 2010 we expect to plant a church in Formello North Rome, where we have a growing cell and are planning outreach to students near the University Campus of Rome. We need prayer for many people to be reached with the Gospel through our outreach and special revival meetings, for strengthening of the church as we have mostly new believers that God will raise them into Leaders. Please pray for a great harvest of souls in 2010, Rome is in a desperate need of revival!
The mission to Zimbabwe has been very interesting given the way the Lord has been leading us so far. In 2009, we made 2 trips within 6 months teaching the nation's leaders and pastors about discipleship, led an encounter and had an amazing response to the cell vision. We have also been able to combine the cell vision teaching with a business and leadership course empowering keys leaders for business.
Discipleship Cell Vision Plan 2010: There is a hunger for the Discipleship amongst the Leaders who are keen to take what we have taught and demonstrated to a higher level. In view of this, we are hoping to host a bigger Cell conference that would bring in more of the Leaders of the land in Zimbabwe. Business: The Plan for 2010 is to seek to empower the Business leaders and build capacity for Business people who are going to be funding the work of the kingdom. We plan to bring greater awareness and exposure to the Business Men/Women by equipping them to be positioned when the economic recovery plans of the Nation start to bear fruit.
This year IBIOS (our Swedish Bible school) will be pioneering another mission to Ethiopia and also partnering with our French Bible School. Please for the next intake of students in September that God will continue to raise up strong leaders in Sweden for the mission field, to reach the unreached.
Marseille Bible School, IFIM, has 7 students in the first year and 7 students in the second year. We aim to develop the Language School for future missionaries wanting to learn French, and for French people looking to learn English or Arabic. Already a number of non-Christians fare coming to our school to learn Arabic. We are also ready to teach French to Afgan refugees. The other project starting this January is an evening for school students to come and receive help with their homework.
Twice a month the IFIM students are involved in street evangelism. We aim to raise an army of French speaking leaders in France with the vision for the new things God is doing in church planting and missions. Please pray for next September registrations so that we can have at least 10 new students.
We will be leading two missions to Mali this year in May and in November. Our plan for the May mission is to work with the village evangelists and help them plant a new base to reach the unreached in Mali. Our aim will be to penetrate a new area with the gospel and extending the ministry in the villages. In November our aim is to hold an evangelistic crusade in one of the key towns in Mali and help to plant a new church.
We will also be working very closely with our French Church Pierre Vivantes to continue to hold encounters with key leaders and pastors in Mali to strengthen the work. During these missions we will be distributing Colin Dye's Sword of the Spirit books that have been translated in to French amongst the workers in Mali. Please continue to pray for Mali and that many charities will continue to provide fresh water and aid to these precious people.
A team will be going to Mauritius again this year and helping the churches adopt the principles of the Discipleship Cell Vision. We will be also extending our work in planting a full bible school to help train effective leaders.
